Maybe I don't know what I'm doing…

Oh vacation…how I love thee, though you are oh so short. That week flew by in a flash. So fast that I barely believe that it happened.  One week ago, I was on the beach and now (what seems like about 6 hours later…) I’m back tucked up in my windowless cubicle getting pastier by the second.

We had a lovely time in Myrtle Beach. Miss Ruby was a champ in the car, only got restless for the last hour of the trip each way. She loved the water, but hated the sand and called the ocean “Milk”. It was awesome. We went outlet shopping, rode the Skywheel and ate more seafood than anyone ever should. I want to do it all again tomorrow. Alas, now we are all back to reality. Joe is counting away and I am sorting through the 200+ emails that flooded my inbox while I was away. Even Ruby-girl is playing away with Ms. Jen. I think my favorite part of vacation is spending time with those two. A girl couldn’t have asked for a better husband and baby than Joe and Ruby. I’ve been blessed.

As if I needed another reminder that vacation is over, I have a dentist appointment this Friday. Just semi-annual cleaning, but a dentist appointment just the same. Actually, it is also Ruby’s first appointment too. I’m not looking forward to that. She screams like we are torturing her every night when we brush her teeth, so I can’t imagine her liking Dr. Waddell in there. I’m talking every. single. night. for the last 9 months she is fussing and spitting and fighting because she hates her teeth being brushed…we’ll see I guess.

I’ve included, for your enjoyment two of my favorite beach baby pictures from the beach. She is the absolute cutest.

Ok, so it is my last day of work before vacation starts and I’m having a minor freak out. There is so much going on here at work that  I’m afraid I’m not going to be able to enjoy myself and be stressed about work while I’m on the beach. It’s giving me a tummy ache. Hopefully I’m just being crazy…

Today at work we are having a potluck.  I freaking love potluck.

After work I’m getting a pedicure with my bff, Holly. It will be lovely and my toes will be pretty for the beach. We are going to the Aveda Institute Columbus. A pedicure is only $25, you get to keep the polish AND you don’t have to tip because they’re students.  It’s a great deal. We go there often. (I promise I don’t work there or anything…I just love a good deal)

Tomorrow is going to be busy cleaning and packing and shopping. I like vacation shopping; I think we’re going to get a new camera.

Apparently I’ve got too much in my head today to stick to a topic for more than a couple of sentences…sorry about that.

Oh yeah, and Ruby is currently, as I type, with her  Daddy visiting a daycare center to see how she likes it and how Joe likes it. It seemed really nice on the tour that we went on the other day, so hopefully it will be a good fit. (the price is nice too…)

Also, I’m worried that Ruby is going to hate the car ride to Myrtle Beach and it is going to be terrible for all of us.  I read a tip about giving toddlers stickers on car trips and they will stay busy and entertained for a bit.  Hopefully that is the case, because I don’t know how awesome a 12 hour car ride with a crying baby will go.

Ahhh…I might vomit…too much anxiety
